Claire Jane Kendrick is an Irish-born artist whose path from the world of high fashion to fine art has shaped a career defined by precision, passion, and a deeply personal connection to landscape. Before relocating to the United States and settling in Northeast Florida, Kendrick worked as a fashion designer for renowned international labels and large global companies. Her career in fashion and color forecasting, including time spent in Paris, gave her a cultivated eye for palette, texture, and movement—skills that now find a new language in her abstract and impressionistic paintings.

With over twenty years immersed in Florida’s coastal landscape, Kendrick’s work draws inspiration from the rich textures and atmospheres of the marshes, estuaries, and seascapes that surround her. Through deliberate layering of color, tone, and mark-making, her paintings evoke mood and memory, exploring the space between what is seen and what is felt. Her distinctive use of color—at once bold and refined—can be traced back to her earlier design work, but painting has given her the freedom to develop a voice uniquely her own.
