Changing Tide

59×67 | Oil Encaustic | Gardner Colby Gallery |  SOLD

Artist Notes

This commission painting was inspired by smaller scale work the client’s admired at one of my exhibitions in the Gardner Colby Gallery, Naples. It was a clear vision for their architecturally designed home in South Florida. The huge high ceilings in the great room would give this canvas lots of room to breath, the couple wanted the painting to say “relax” as they changed gear arriving in their vacation home, escaping from busy career schedules.

Thank you to the collectors of “Changing Tide” for allowing me to share a photograph of this 5ft x 6ft, oil encaustic seascape painting installed in their beautiful home!

– When the tide changes, there is a short period in a body of tidal water when all is calm, when the water is completely unstressed, and there is no movement either way in the tidal stream, the ocean seemingly stands still before the movement and momentum of tidal stream reverses. Everyone needs an excuse stop, and just let the world go by! I hope they enjoy their changing tide time!!
