Grand Love Story
36″ x 60″ | Oil Encaustic Peonies, twigs and foliage…. this was a still life set up I painted a few times in different sizes and formats. Sometimes when a subject clicks, its inspiring to work on it repetitively and in a burst of creativity explore varied brushwork and paint language.
Restful White
12″ x 12″ | Oil on Canvas Board | This is an oil study in preparation for a larger painting. The colored under painting shows in places, these are pentimenti, traces of the previous work. Its fun to leave zings of color otherwise not expected. For me it adds something unexpected to a painting and gives me ideas for future works….! This a bouquet of hydrangea, peonies, twigs and greenery.

New Paintings in the Botanical Series
Here are a few new paintings in the Botanical Series – This small painting inspired the large work below – I was attracted to the muted tones and calm clean palette. I was inspired to do this larger painting ” Dancing Irises” having painted a smaller version of this still life set up ” Vase and Vessel”. The Irises provide rhythm and movement in a calm muted set up. – I like the play of frenzy and composure. Peaceful Pose
