All wrapped up …!

All wrapped up …!

dry dock boat photographWell it seems even the boats are wrapped up for the holidays! I visited Green Cove Springs Marina and painted en plein air with a good friend who used to store her boat there. It’s a great place as boat owners are able to work on their own boats in the yard so there is always a lot happening. Especially since most of these folks are getting ready to sail to the Bahamas for the winter season….. ahh it’s a  hard life! They were grafting hard and a Canadian couple stopped for lunch and take a break catch a few rays!! They were working on their boat and doing most of the work themselves, apparently eBay, blood sweat and tears gets the job done!

Here a few real loose oil sketches of life on the docks, I loved the storage yard were the big old dinosaur boats hang out. They are massive and  there is no end of things to paint so this venue will be worth a few more visits. There was a little sail boat called “Lil Darlin” that I want to paint, the owners had their sky dish hooked up to the dock. LOL
