OPENING NIGHT FRIDAY 4th NOVEMBER 6.30 -8.30 PM
Selected through the Provincetown Community Compact I created a body of work in one of the primitive Dune Shacks situated along the far-flung coastal region of Cape Cod’s National Seashore, Massachusetts. The Dune Shacks of Peaked Hill Bars Historic District have lodged famous artists and authors who have sought a place of seclusion in which to work.
The main gallery and exhibiting member show was a wonderful setting for my Artists Talk showing photographs and sharing my journey with fellow artists.
Thanks to everyone who came and made it a pleasure for me to share my Dune Shack photographs and experience.
As my life in St Augustine and ties with the community deepen so does my curiosity about the rich cultural heritage. Being able to give a modern day spin on the tradition of traveling to paint in other art colony’s is something many members I hope enjoyed hearing about, it may even inspire future trips.
The Association has an important linage of nationally recognized artists and it was enlightening to be standing in Provincetown and being shown beautiful works of the city St Augustine, painted by STAAA founding members. Thanks to the help of Elyse Brady for help and research before and after my trip and allowing me to share my experience with members.
