The Fourth Annual Flagler Beach Paint Out

The Fourth Annual Flagler Beach Paint Out

Guest Judges were Peter Cerreta and Kathleen Maling. I picked up 2nd place for a ‘plein air’ oil study of the magnificent cactus that grows in the sand dunes all along the A1A. I was so amazed by the stunning plants that I asked one of the locals, if people had actually planted them, only to be told they are all native to the region. My painting of a prickly pear cactus got great comments from the judges! It was a stormy blustery week at the beach and some of my beach studies look more like Ireland that usually sunny Florida.
