America’s Parks Exhibition
Two of my paintings have been juried into the America’s Parks exhibition at the Lightner Museum from June 9 to Aug. 31, 2016.
“America’s Parks is a national traveling exhibition that features works of parks in North America,” said Andy Witt, executive director of the St. Johns Cultural Council. “We are thrilled to provide artists with the opportunity to be part of this well-known exhibition to showcase the incredible parks and artists we have in our county.”
Statement of Work
“Plein air painting allows me to express my unique vision. As an artist I am responding to the surroundings, capturing key details, the people, at Castillo de San Marcos & Fort Matanzas National Monument. The spontaneity and excitement is evident, I wanted to show these historical places of beauty, with a modern view point. The National Parks are our playgrounds – places of pilgrimage — they are here for us and future generations to enjoy.” – CJK

Bio
Claire J. Kendrick, born in Ireland, has been living in North Florida since 2006.
