Rise| 36″ x 48″ | Encaustic | Claire J Kendrick This painting from a still life set up, painted in the studio. Wax is added to oil paint, during the painting process. Then the painting is torched outside, melting the wax and paint. The most wonderful random dripping and pouring of wax happens! The unexpected is to be embraced, go with the flow!!

Underwater Love
20″ x 20″ | Encaustic | In studio We have had a week of rainfall with Topical Storm Debbie so I have been forced to work in the studio. This painting is a combination of oil paint and wax. If there is a dry spell I take the painting outside and fire up the blow torch, and fling a few flames and continue painting. I have worked up three paintings over time letting them dry and reworking in layers! This
