Panoramic Marsh | 15×30 | In a Collectors Private Home | Ontario, Canada

A photo shared by long time art collector and friend. This painting called “Panoramic Marsh” hangs in Ontario, Canada. The beautiful pottery also in view, is by a talented artist called Worley Faver also a good friend. Follow the link to read about the artist and see more of his stunning pottery. These works of art sit wonderfully together.

Ontario , one of the 13 provinces and territories of Canada, is located in east-central Canada. It is Canada’s most populous province by a large margin, accounting for nearly 40 percent of all Canadians, and is the second-largest province in total area. Ontario is fourth-largest in total area when the territories of the Northwest Territories and Nunavut are included. It is home to the nation’s capital city, Ottawa, and the nation’s most populous city, Toronto.

Irish Coastal Painting goes to new home in the USA

Irish Coast | 20×24 | Oil & Wax on Canvas | CJK | SOLD by Art on Centre – Fernandina, Amelia Island.

To my delight this gem of a painting sold within a few hrs of being delivered to the gallery.

I mention it because it is a painting of the Irish Coast in less than perfect weather conditions and has sold from one of my gallery’s on the Sunny East Coast of the USA.

Irish Coast, is a painting I have kept for a long time because I just assumed the gallery’s in the States would prefer localized territory. It’s a painting that arrived from an emotional memory of Ireland. From time to time I need to paint these paintings, living in the states for 11 years I love the local country and coast however these paintings are from a sketch or sometimes from familiar place deep within the soul, this painting arrived after much scraping and layering of paint.

For anyone living by the coast when the weather turns bad it is just pure drama. I hope the new collectors will love their painting Irish Coast.

“They say if someone leaves an Island, the thing you will miss most is the sea.” – (Padhrig Pol – Inis Oirr)

We are an ancient people. That sense of having your breath taken away by a beautiful scene that’s like a tribal memory. – (Alan O’Sullivan – Valentia Island)

Beautiful sentiments from the people in this short video – Wild Atlantic Way – Shaped by the Sea Islands #wildatlanticway

Artist Notes

This is a studio painting with reference and notes from a trip to Ireland Dec 2014. The days were short and nightfall closed in early. I managed some afternoon trips to the cliffs of Horn Head, looking out over the Sheephaven Bay, Donegal and this painting is inspired by small plein air studies done on location, and the emotional memory of the place.

Even in a wasteland a tiny seed can grow and blossom. Here a vase of abundance – placed in a void land. In the painting the green drips & runs, may be troubles or blessings depending on your viewpoint. Finding yourself in a love wasteland – means you must decide to perish, regrow or bloom.

Artist Talk at the Art Guild of Orange Park | Tue 7th, February, 7pm-9pm | SAVE THE DATE

Location – Art Guild of Orange Park at 7pm – 9pm | Lions Club, 423 Macintosh Ave, Orange Park.

Are you curious about applying to do an Artist Residency Experience? Join me as I share my experience.

I was awarded through the Provincetown Community Compact, a residency located in the Peaked Hill Bars National Register Historic District. The artist in residence experience was primitive only allowing for basic essentials in an effort to preserve and enhance the natural beauty of the Cape. Residing in one of the 19 well-known Dune Shacks; where there was no electricity or indoor plumbing, and little connection with the outside world.

I will be presenting a slide show and will have original works painted on location on display, as I share my experience staying alone and painting for one week at one of the famous Dune Shacks.
