In the spirit of giving two shoe paintings are going to a charity auction, these little gems are to raise money for Patrons of the Hearts! Patrons of the Hearts aims to create an endowment that will cover the cost of bringing children with complex congenital heart problems to Wolfson Children’s Hospital for medical treatment. This project represents a partnership between the University of Florida Pediatric Cardiovascular Center, Wolfson Children’s Hospital, and the community of Jacksonville.
Art Unleashed was a great event held downtown Jacksonville. The Charity FCNMHP – First Coast No More Homeless Pets had an art action with over 150 artists involved. The highest bidder gets the artwork it was a great night as my painting was awarded “Best in the Painting Category”. It was a painting of our rescue dog and SOLD to a fellow animal lover. Guest Judges were Peter Cerreta and Kathleen Maling. I picked up 2nd place for a ‘plein air’ oil study of the magnificent cactus that grows in the sand dunes all along the A1A. I was so amazed by the stunning plants that I asked one of the locals, if people had actually planted them, only to be told they are all native to the region.
